The Condado de Taboada Foundation

The Condado de Taboada Foundation was established in 2013 by the will of Doña Amelia González de la Maza, 29th Countess of Taboada, who bequeathed to this institution the heritage of a noble house with over 500 years of history, with the purpose of putting it at the service of society.

Doña Amelia González de la Maza became the head of the House of Taboada, one of the most important noble houses in Galicia, in 2005, following the passing of her brother, Don Leopoldo, 28th Count of Taboada, who succumbed to cancer. Motivated by this event and fulfilling her lifelong dream, Doña Amelia decided to create a foundation to continue the charitable work she had carried out during her lifetime. She focused on promoting social development, with a special emphasis on medical research and the fight against cancer.

Following the Countess's passing on March 4, 2013, and in accordance with her final wishes, her heirs officially established the Condado de Taboada Foundation on July 10, 2013. Since then, in line with the directives set by its founder, the Foundation has remained committed to cancer research. Through collaborations with other entities, it has engaged in research activities in the fields of medicine and health, prioritizing medium- and long-term projects over one-time financial aid initiatives.

Protecting cultural heritagethrough recording endangered practices, skills and knowledge in Galicia.

Fight against cancer within the focus on investigation, prevention and awareness raising. Entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurship education through the facilitation virtual world transformation of young people in order to increase youth employability, inclusion of marginalised young people.
